Assessment and Therapy

Assessment Services

Comprehensive assessment services, grounded in current research, are provided for:

  • Learning Disabilities/Disorders (psycho-educational assessment), including:
    • Reading disabilities (ex. dyslexia)
    • Writing disabilities (ex. dysgraphia)
    • Math disabilities (ex. dyscalculia)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), including:
    •  Inattentive, Hyperactive-Impulsive, and Combined presentations
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Giftedness
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Social Difficulty
  • Behavioural difficulties/disorders
  • Other co-occurring conditions, such as anxiety or depression

Therapeutic Services

Therapeutic services are provided for:

  • Living well with learning disabilities, ADHD, and/or Autism
  • Executive functioning, i.e. the skills that we use to set goals, plan, and get things done, including:
    • Organizational skills
    • Study skills
    • Impulse control
    • Emotional regulation
  • School difficulties
  • School refusal, school avoidance
  • Problem-solving/coping strategies
  • Social/interpersonal skills (ex. flexibility, assertiveness)
  • Self-esteem and self-advocacy
  • Anxiety and/or mood management
  • Adaptive/life skills
  • Parent consultation/coaching – Collaborative, practical support for parents seeking to better understand and respond to their child’s emotional and behavioural needs, including concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, oppositional or defiant behaviours, and other areas of complexity.
